Account Deletion Request

At Migrantcare, we respect your privacy and provide you with simple ways to request the deletion of your account and associated data.

How to request account deletion

You can request your account and data deletion through any of the following methods:

• In-App Deletion: Log in to the MigrantCare app, navigate to Profile > Settings > Delete Account and follow the prompts.

• Email Request: Send an email from your registered email address to support@migrantcare.com.my with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Please include your registered phone number for verification.

• Web Request: Alternatively, you may contact our support team through our official channels to initiate a manual data purge.

What happens to your data?

Data that will be deleted

1. Personal Identity: Your name, phone number, email address, physical address, and profile picture.

2. Account Credentials: Login credentials and authentication tokens.

3. Non-Essential Records: App settings, preferences, and notifications history.

Data that may be retained (Retention Policy)

To comply with legal, regulatory, and tax requirements, certain types of data will be retained for specific periods before permanent deletion:

1. Medical & Clinical Records: As a healthcare provider operating in Malaysia, we are legally required to retain patient clinical records for a minimum of 7 years, pursuant to the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998.

2. Financial Transactions: Records of payment and wallet transactions are retained for 7 years for tax and audit compliance as required by Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

3. Aggregated Data: We may retain anonymized, non-identifiable data for research, analytics, and service improvement purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you.

Timeframe for Deletion

Upon receiving your request, we will verify your identity. Once verified, your account will be deactivated immediately and the eligible data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
